Jurij Kiselyov has survived the absolute bottom of the underworld by keeping his head down and knowing his place. But protecting North American sports superstar Chariot "Cherry" Goodnight is a whole new kind of hazard. From the moment they meet, Cherry flirts relentlessly, up until he uncovers Jurij's criminal past. Suddenly, the charm turns to sharp hostility, and the cold shoulder gets brutal. But when a deadly hit turns a personal grudge into a life-or-death protection job, hatred becomes the least of their problems. Cherry might despise the ground Jurij walks on, but he can't keep his hands off him. Now stuck guarding a man who loathes his existence, Jurij has to keep Cherry alive...and figure out where sheer hostility ends and dangerous desire begins.
